giving thanks for a great show

crafty supermarket music hall holiday craft show

Well, that was the biggest, most amazing craft show we’ve ever put together. The first people we have to thank are the shoppers, all 4,000+ of you! It was by far the best crowd we’ve ever had, and we loved being in the Music Hall Ballroom. We were a little nervous about moving to a bigger location — what if nobody showed up? But we are so glad we took the plunge! We’d love to know what you thought of the show and the new venue — take our short shopper survey here.

Next up on our list of people to thank is Music Hall’s amazing staff for being so incredibly coordinated and helpful all day. Especially our liaison, Scott, and the friendly barkeeps.

Thank you to our food vendorsCafe De WheelsDojo GelatoEAT! Mobile DiningFireside PizzaLa Terza CoffeeMelt and Sweet Peace Bakery, for keeping us fed and caffeinated all day!

Huge thank yous go to all our sponsors, especially the 21c Museum Hotel for letting us hang out with a big yellow penguin all day.

Big ups to our craft demonstrators and exhibitors Broadhope Art Collective, Enjoy the Arts, Michelle Taute of Fold Me Up!Kiki Magazine, and Random Snacks of Kindness. They all helped make the day a lot more crafty!

Crafty hugs go to our volunteers for helping us out all day. They saved the day on more than one occasion, and we couldn’t do the show without them!

And finally, a big GRACIAS to all our nearly 90 crafters and artists. They came from far and wide to be in Cincinnati for the show, and we were blown away by their talent. If you saw something you loved at the show but forgot to get it and can’t remember who the vendor was — here’s our table layout.

On a sad note, one of our crafters, Alison Rose, and her husband were in a car accident on their way home to Columbus the night of the show. If you love her work as much as we do and can spare a few bucks, another one of our vendors set up a funding campaign for them. And another crafter who had planned to be with us, Busty’s Fun Bags, wasn’t able to come to the show because she is critically ill. There’s a funding campaign for her here.

Now we’re going to kick back and enjoy the holidays. Thank you for buying handmade and supporting our show! We’ll announce our Crafty Supermarket plans for 2014 soon, so stay tuned!

  1. It was a fantastic show! Definitely the best yet! Thank YOU for having this great idea and working hard to bring it to Cincy’s indie craft show scene :)
