our super-awesome vendors are getting super-awesome awards!

We’re working with Cincinnati Magazine to award four outstanding vendors for awesomeness at our big indie craft show on Saturday, Nov. 29. (They highlighted five great vendors to look for already!) Tamia Stinson, a stylist and blogger for Cincinnati Magazine, will be evaluating our holiday show vendors to select winners for these categories:

  • Best Display: Who’s got the most awesome booth?
  • Best Products: Who’s got the most remarkable products for sale at the show?
  • Best Newbie: Which of the 30 new vendors at our show is the raddest?
  • and then the audience will vote for the People’s Choice!

You’ll be able to identify the winners by the amazing prize ribbons created by Abby Langdon! You can cast your vote for People’s Choice by filling out a ballot at the Cincinnati Magazine booth before 4 p.m. on Saturday. We’ll announce the People’s Choice winner before the end of the show, and you just might see all the winners on CincinnatiMagazine.com very soon.

Remember to RSVP for Crafty Supermarket on Facebook and invite all your friends, and we’ll see you on Saturday!

craft demos, ahoy!

At our big holiday show — this Saturday!! — we’ve got some hands-on craft activities for makers young and old, and you can see some of our crafters do demos on TV this week!

  • Kiki Magazine: The people of this fab mag for tween girls will be offering free hands-on 10-minute sewing machine lessons to kids and adults from 1 to 4 p.m. to raise awareness for their upcoming Sew Much More crowdfunding campaign for a sewing club for underserved girls in the Cincinnati area. Sign up to reserve your session at the Kiki booth on the day of the show!
  • Craftologies: Have you ever wondered where all the monsters go after Halloween? The ladies of Craftologies, a crafty party center in Withamsville, will show you how to make a free felt monster wallet!

And! Tune in to FOX19 this week to see three of our vendors doing what they do live on the morning show! Here’s the lineup:

great eats at our big show

Buying handmade can really give you an appetite! Lucky for you, we’ve got a bunch of great food vendors who will be at our craft show on Nov. 29 at the Music Hall Ballroom.

In addition to the food trucks outside and food vendors inside, we’ll have a cash bar so you can grab a soda or a mimosa while you shop!

Inside food vendors:

  • Baking You Happy: Cupcakes baked like a boss.
  • Dojo Gelato: Doesn’t matter if it’s cold outside: Every season is gelato season.
  • La Terza Coffee: Our man Chuck brews a great cup of coffee.
  • Plus two food-as-craft vendors who will be selling packaged goodies for you to give (or eat, we won’t judge): sweet little desserts by Brown Bear Bakery and fine chocolate gifts by Chocolats Latour

Outside food vendors:

get involved with the show

Crafty Supermarket is a big undertaking. If you’ve ever been, you know what we’re talking about: dozens of handmade vendors who drive from hours away to be with us, and thousands of shoppers who want to see what they brought. To help us make the craft show run smoothly, we count on our dutiful volunteers and sponsors to give us a hand and help spread the word!

Volunteering

At our big show on Nov. 29 at Cincinnati’s beautiful Music Hall, we have a couple of opportunities to help out. (And when you assist us for a couple hours, you’ll get one of our famous swag bags!) Volunteers can help shoppers know where everything is, assist vendors who need a break, and help load in at the beginning of the day and clean up at the end of the day. You can learn more and submit your info here. We’ll get back to you a few weeks before the show with the schedule. (Note that we sometimes get more volunteer applications than we can take, but we’ll get back to you either way!)

Parnerships

We work with all kinds of local organizations who love handmade and want to help spread the word. From arts nonprofits and landmark institutions to DIY shops and enterprises, if you support the maker movement, we’d love to work with you! Our media partners this year are Cincinnati Magazine and 91.7 WVXU. Learn more about sponsorship opportunities here.

holiday show apps are closed!

Applications for the Crafty Supermarket holiday show are now closed! We’re going to spend the next two weeks going through applications, and we will notify everyone who applied of their acceptance status by Sept. 15. If you’re accepted, you’ll have until Oct. 1 to pay the remainder of the table fee. If you don’t pay your table fee by Oct. 1, we’ll offer the space to another crafter who applied before the deadline.

I missed the deadline! Can I still apply?

We get way more applications for the show than we can accept, so we can’t allow any late applications out of fairness to crafters who applied before the deadline. If a spot opens up from a vendor being unable to attend the show, we select alternates from the people who applied before the deadline.

If you want to apply to be in our next show, be sure to follow us here on the website, on Facebook or via our e-newsletter. We broadcast our upcoming opportunities in all those places!
