meet our holiday show food vendors!

You know we bring it when it comes to crafts — but we can’t ignore the awesome food vendors we’ll have outside at the Crafty Supermarket holiday show Saturday!

  • Authentic Waffle: The best waffles you’ve ever eaten, basically. And, new to us this year: crepes!
  • Cafe de Wheels: As seen above — a kick-ass burger truck. Lotsa options, lotsa tastiness.
  • Fireside Pizza: A brick pizza oven on wheels? You are not dreaming — this is real. Real delicious.
  • La Terza: Just the finest coffee and espresso around to warm you up on what’ll likely be a chilly day! (This dude will be inside the CCAC.)
  • Sweet Peace Bakery: It’s a VW van converted into a tasty vegan baked good delivery system.

essential guide to the crafty supermarket holiday show

Are you stoked for the big show this weekend? We sure are, and so are our 50+ vendors! Here’s all the info you need to have a successful shopping trip, including insider info, a parking map and detailed directions.

ESSENTIALS

What: Crafty Supermarket’s Holiday Show!
When:
 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011
Where: Clifton Cultural Arts Center, 3711 Clifton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45220
Cost: Free to the public!

INSIDER ADVICE

  • Got a wheelchair or a stroller? There’s an elevator on the west side of the building off the driveway between the CCAC and the recreation center.
  • Want one of our 100 swag bags? Get in line real early! By the time the show starts at 11 a.m., we usually have a line around the block.
  • Many of our vendors accept credit cards, but not all do, so we recommend bringing cash to the show. There’s no ATM on site, but there are plenty on Ludlow Avenue, about a half-mile south of the CCAC.
  • Want to shop in peace? We totally understand—some folks just don’t like crowds. If you prefer to leisurely peruse all our vendors’ wares, come in the afternoon! Things usually slow down after 3 p.m.
  • If you’ve got little ones, especially if they’re in strollers, we recommend coming to the show after the initial rush. Things can get very crowded, which can be overwhelming for tots!
  • If you wanna get crafty, the BombShells will show you how to do yarn crafts at the show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. And then DIY Printing will have a screenprinting demo and activities for kids from 3-6 p.m!
  • Music at the show will be provided all day by Ben Davis of the PROJECTMILL collective.

DIRECTIONS

The Clifton Cultural Arts Center in the Gaslight District is at 3711 Clifton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45220. It’s right at the corner of Clifton and McAlpin avenues. The 17, 18, 19, 39 and 78 buses have stops within a half mile of the CCAC. Get more details at www.sorta.com.

Here are detailed Google Maps directions:

PARKING

The closest parking is in the Clifton Rec Center lot right behind the CCAC, but if it fills up, you can park behind the Fairview German School—enter from McAlpin Avenue or from Clifton Avenue. There’s also plenty of street parking around the Clifton Gaslight neighborhood.

ways to get involved with crafty supermarket

Oh boy, the Holiday 2011 Crafty Supermarket is going to be here before we know it! (If you haven’t already, you can RSVP to the event on Facebook to get it on your calendar.)

With less than a month to go until the show on Nov. 19, we’ve got our amazing vendors all lined up. But if you were hoping to still get involved with the show, we’ve got a couple opportunities to pick from!

  • Volunteering: We have a bunch of different things we need help with on the day of the show and the night before! By donating two hours of your time, not only do you get good craft karma, you get one of our prized swag bags! Read more about what being a volunteer entails and sign up in our form here! (We can’t offer everyone who signs up to be a volunteer a spot, but we’ll get back to you with volunteer assignments by early November.)
  • Sponsorships: Do you have an awesome business or organization that you would like to promote while helping us grow our awesome little indie craft fair? Be a sponsor for our holiday show! Email craftysupermarket@gmail.com by Oct. 28. We have sponsorship packages starting at just $50!
  • Donating swag: We’ll be giving away 125 swag bags to the first lucky shoppers of the day and our trusty volunteers. If you’d like to contribute promo items for your local business or crafty enterprise, please send 125 pieces by Nov. 1 to:

    Fabricate
    attn: Crafty Supermarket
    4037 Hamilton Ave.
    Cincinnati, OH 45223

(If you’re in town, feel free to drop your swag off during normal Fabricate hours in a box or bag labeled Crafty Supermarket!)
