housekeeping and crafty news

Big winner: The winner of the drawing for $200 worth of craft awesomeness from MyCraftivityStore.com was Sara Relojo — congratulations! (jealous!!)

Lost and found: Lost items reported include a brown boy’s wallet, a turquoise stud earring and an iPod/iPhone. Call the CCAC if you found any of these things! Found at the CCAC was one ring — call the office at (513) 497-2860 if you lost one.

Fab fabrics: St. Theresa Textile Trove, an amazing fabric and notion store that  used to be in College Hill until it closed earlier this year, is now reincarnated at the Pendleton Art Center! It’s open Tuesdays-Thursdays 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Upcoming crafty events: The second Summer Celebration in Over-the-Rhine is gonna happen May 22, and the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange in Indianapolis will be June 12.

thank you!

THANK YOU for helping the second Crafty Supermarket be such a success! Over the course of the day we had more than 1,500 shoppers at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center.

We couldn’t have done it without all our volunteers, sponsors, Ruth and Erin of the CCAC, the shoppers and most of all the crafters. All 50 of you were amazing, and we’re so glad you were a part of Crafty Supermarket.

Phew! We’re still recovering from all the excitement. If you didn’t make it to the show, or just want to relive it, here’s some video Grace took of the show towards the end as things were winding down.

Announcements coming soon about our next show — stay tuned, and sign up for our newsletter in the upper right hand corner of the blog!

today’s the day!

Crafty Supermarket’s spring show is today! Doors open at 11 a.m. and we’ll go hot and  heavy until 6 p.m. See you there!

join us tomorrow!

Just wanted to reiterate all the important info those of you coming out for Crafty Supermarket tomorrow!

The show is open and free to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010. The first shoppers of the day will get one of our 100 swag bags, filled with delightful freebies!

We’ll have 50 amazing craft vendors, food, drinks and treats from five local caterers and restaurants, and a DJ from PROJECTMILL spinning all day.

Some vendors are able to accept credit cards or checks, but your best bet is to bring cash. There’s no ATM on site — the closest ATMs are on Ludlow Avenue.

Crafty Supermarket is happening at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center in Cincinnati’s Gaslight District. The address is 3711 Clifton Ave., right at the corner of Clifton and McAlpin avenues. Learn more about the CCAC here.

Note: At this time, the CCAC building is not wheelchair-accessible. There are a number of steps to get into the building and up to the first floor.

Coming in from out of town? Here are detailed Google Maps directions:

swag bag sneak peek

swag bag example

The first shoppers of the day will get one of our 100 swag bags, which are just brimming with awesome stuff! The picture above is a random bag — contents will vary and might be even more awesome. Some of the things you might find in our swag bags are:

  • a guest pass to the Taft Museum
  • a beautiful screenprint from VisuaLingual
  • a coupon for Taste of Belgium
  • a coupon for MyCraftivityStore.com
  • buttons, magnets, little crayons
  • a ceramic brooch from Red Raven Studios
  • samples of craft mesh
  • craft scissors or a hole punch
  • and more!

Get to the show early to make sure you get a swag bag! Last year, people started lining up at 10 freaking 30, which might be a little crazy, but that’s OK because we’re a little crazy too. :)
