make something cool at our holiday show!

The awesome folks at Kiki Magazine are creating a room of craft activities at our big holiday show next Saturday, Nov. 28! Kiki is a locally produced independent magazine for girls who love life, appreciate creativity, and recognize good ideas. When you come into the Music Hall Ballroom, the Kiki craft room will be towards the corner to your right. There you’ll find:

A free make-and-take activity: You can create your own puzzle piece earrings. Keep them for yourself or give them as a gift!

Ever want to be on the cover of a magazine? You can get your picture taken in a giant Kiki cover! They will have a professional photographer there to take photos who can email the photos to you after the event. You’re also welcome to take photos with your phone!

You’ll also find handmade crafts for sale that have been featured in Kiki magazine, as well as handy maker kits that make great gifts — they contain everything you need to make LED greeting cards and a DIY runway skirt inspired by Michael Kors.

awesome eats at our holiday craft show

Shopping can really work up an appetite, so we are bringing in a bunch of great food vendors to our big holiday show on Nov. 28! We've got sweet and savory, familiar favorites and new eats! Plus, the bar at the Music Hall Ballroom will be open all day so you can grab a mimosa or a locally brewed beer or a soda!

Get involved with the holiday show!

Crafty Supermarket’s holiday show is huge: 100 handmade vendors come from all around the Midwest to flaunt their best work for thousands of shoppers. To help us make the craft show the best it can be, we enlist volunteers and work with sponsors — and here’s how you can get involved:

Volunteering

At our big holiday show on Nov. 28 at the Music Hall Ballroom, we have a couple of opportunities for people to help out. (And when you assist us for a couple hours, you’ll get one of our famous swag bags!) Volunteers help us out in one of four areas: helping shoppers know where everything is, assisting vendors who need a break, helping load in at the beginning of the day and cleaning up at the end of the day. You can learn more and submit your info here. We’ll get back to you a few weeks before the show with the schedule. (Note that we sometimes get more volunteer applications than we can take, but we’ll get back to you either way!)

Partnerships

We work with all kinds of local organizations who love handmade and want to help spread the word. From arts nonprofits and landmark institutions to DIY shops and enterprises, if you support the maker movement, we’d love to work with you! Learn more about partnership opportunities here and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have an idea of how we can work together!

holiday show applications are now closed!

Applications for the Crafty Supermarket holiday craft show are now closed! We will let everyone who applied know about their acceptance status by Sept. 15.

Accepted crafters will have until Oct. 1 to pay their table fee. If you don’t pay your table fee by Oct. 1, we’ll offer the space to another crafter who applied before the deadline.

I missed the deadline! Can I still apply?

We get more applications for the show than we can accept, so we can’t allow any late applications out of fairness to crafters who applied before the deadline. If a spot opens up from a vendor being unable to attend the show, we select alternates from the people who applied before the deadline.

If you want to apply to be in our next show, be sure to follow us here on the website, on Facebook or via our e-newsletter. We broadcast our upcoming opportunities in all those places! Information about our 2016 spring show will be posted in January.

thanks for making our craft show awesome!

It was a rainy day, but our spring show was a big success! Big thanks go out to our sponsors, our trusty volunteers, our resident DJ Ben Davis, the incredible staff of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center and the 50 vendors who traveled from near and far to be with us. But especially to the 2,000+ shoppers who braved the rain to come hang out at the show!

Cheers to Dojo Gelato, C’est Cheese, Fireside Pizza, La Terza CoffeeMacaron Bar, and Red Sesame Korean BBQ for keeping us well-fed throughout the day!

A hip hip hooray to Half Hazard Press for designing and printing the beautiful totes for our swag bags:

And a crafty salute to this lady who was first in line for one of those swag bags shortly after 9 a.m.!

Thanks are due to the fine folks of the Contemporary Arts Center and the Cincinnati Main Library’s MakerSpace for running the hands-on maker table all day.

Here are a few more of our favorite shots from the show on Instagram!

Our next show is Nov. 28 at the Music Hall Ballroom, and application info for vendors will be posted in July. Stay crafty!

get crafty at our spring show

We hope you are so inspired by the 50 makers at our spring show that you try making something yourself! And it’s possible to get started even before you get home — the make-it station by the front entrance will be staffed by creative folks all day long:

11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: The fine folks of the Contemporary Arts Center are making nature-inspired paper crowns with dried flowers. They will also have materials to make felt flower pins, so consider your spring wardrobe updated!

2:30 to 6 p.m.: The crew from the Cincinnati Main Library’s MakerSpace will also have two projects on offer. The first one will be Make Your Own button: They’ll have supplies and button makers for you to design and make your own buttons, magnets or keychains. They will also have string art supplies for people to try making their initials with small blocks of wood, nails and string.
