Why? Because handmade is awesome!
Oh good golly, that was a lot of fun. A whopping 1,700 shoppers came out Saturday for the spring edition of Crafty Supermarket, and it was a great success.
We’ve got a lot of people to thank for the show being such a lovefest, including the 55 vendors who were selling their wares at the show. (Most of them sell their stuff online, so if you didn’t make it to the show or were waffling on whether to buy something, you can still check them out!)
The food vendors, Dojo Gelato, Fireside Pizza, La Terza Coffee, Picnic & Pantry and Sweet Peace Bakery, were gastronomical delights! Thank you for being delicious.
Ben Davis rocked it out as the DJ all day — thank you for playing such great music to keep us dancing!
To Ruth and all the folks of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center — thank you for being so helpful, accommodating and supportive!
We also heart our sponsors — ArtsWave, AIGA Cincinnati, the Contemporary Arts Center, Sewn Studio, The Comet, Fabricate, gracie sparkles books, Jungle Jim’s International Market, NECCO, Nvision, Park + Vine, SMARTFISH Handmade Footwear, Taft Museum of Art and Wire and Twine. Your support helps us keep Crafty Supermarket going strong!
And last but not least — the dedicated, wholly awesome volunteers who helped out on the day of the show are total champs. We can’t thank you enough for your support, hard work and time!
We are still recovering, but we promise we won’t be hiding out for long. Details about our next show to come.
XO!
Alisha, Chris and Grace

The Crafty Supermarket spring show is less than two weeks away, and the excitement is totally palpable. One new thing we’re doing this time around is hosting a live screenprinting demo by the good folks of DIY Printing! Little kids and big kids alike can try their hands at “pulling a print” between 3 and 6 p.m. the day of the show, Saturday, May 7. Bring a T-shirt to print on, or use some of our paper to make a print from one of the pre-made screens.
Not sure what the heck we’re talking about? Screenprinting is a versatile printing medium that’s both accurate and tactile. Have you seen any of the Crafty Supermarket posters (like our latest, printed by Southpaw)? Those are screenprinted! If you’ve got a little one who’s interested in learning how screenprinting works, make sure to come to the show in the afternoon. The demo area will be on the right when you enter the main hall of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, right across from the welcome table.

By the way, if you’re interested in volunteering to help out on the day of the show, there’s still time to submit your info, and we are still accepting swag for our famous swag bags until May 1!
Wanna earn some craft karma? Crafty Supermarket’s success is due in no small part to the awesome folks who help us out. We’re looking for volunteers who are available for a two-hour shift on the day of the show—in exchange, you’re guaranteed one of our fab swag bags that people line up all morning for!
There are a number of different things our volunteers do:
And we promise you’ll still have time to shop. Fill out our handy dandy form, and we’ll get back to you in the weeks before the show happens. Click here to send in your info to be a volunteer! We’re all booked up with volunteers as of 4/23!
