be a part of our spring craft show!

In addition to all the handmade vendors who are a part of our show, it takes a village to make Crafty Supermarket happen. We enlist volunteers and work with sponsors — and here’s how you can get involved:

Volunteering

At our spring show on May 7 at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, we have a couple of opportunities for people to help out. (And when you assist us for a couple hours, you’ll get one of our famous swag bags!) Volunteers can choose to do any of the following things: help shoppers know where everything is, assist vendors who need a break, help load in at the beginning of the day or clean up at the end of the day. You can learn more and submit your availability here. We’ll get back to you a few weeks before the show with the schedule. (Note that we sometimes get more volunteer applications than we can take, but we’ll get back to you either way!)

Parnerships

We work with all kinds of local organizations who love handmade and want to help spread the word. From arts nonprofits and landmark institutions to DIY shops and enterprises, if you support the maker movement, we’d love to work with you! Crafty Supermarket’s holiday show is huge: 100 handmade vendors come from all around the Midwest to flaunt their best work for thousands of shoppers. To help us make the craft show the best it can be, we enlist volunteers and work with sponsors — and here’s how you can get involved:

Volunteering

At our big holiday show on Nov. 28 at the Music Hall Ballroom, we have a couple of opportunities for people to help out. Applications for Crafty Supermarket’s 2013 holiday craft show are open until Sept. 1!

How to apply for our show

Crafty Supermarket is at the Music Hall Ballroom in downtown Cincinnati from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. Please read our Crafter FAQ before you apply. Our show features handmade goods only — no commercial products.

In the online application, you’ll be asked to upload up to five images in JPG, GIF or PNG format. (The images should be at least 400×600 pixels but no bigger than 1 MB in size each.) Please name your files in this format:BusinessName1.jpgBusinessName2.jpg, and so on.

There’s a nonrefundable application fee of $10. (You’ll be guided to pay via PayPal when you complete the application. If you need help, PayPal has tutorials on its website — click on the Send Money tab.) The vendor fee for our show is $110, but if you’re accepted, the application fee counts towards the table fee.

Two crafter businesses may apply to share a table — you only need to fill out one application together. Each crafter (or crafter group) will have an 8’x2.5′ table and two chairs. (If you prefer to bring your own setup, it must fit within that space.)

When you submit the application, you should receive a confirmation message and a confirmation email from us and be taken to PayPal to pay the application fee. If that doesn’t happen, your application might not have gone through—email us to check on it.

We will stop accepting applications at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 1. We’ll notify all crafter applicants of their acceptance status by Sept. 15. If you’re accepted, you’ll have until Oct. 1 to pay the remainder of the table fee — $100. If you don’t submit your table fee by Oct. 1, we’ll offer the space to another crafter who applied before the deadline. We cannot accept late applications.

Aaaaah I missed the deadline! Can I still apply?

We get way more applications for the show than we can accept, so we can’t allow any late applications out of fairness to crafters who applied before the deadline. If a spot opens up from a vendor being unable to attend the show, we select alternates from the people who applied before the deadline.
