THANKS A MILLION!

Thanks so much for coming out to the show on Saturday — we had record-breaking attendance, and our vendors really felt the love from Cincinnati! We saw more than 6,500 shoppers at Music Hall, the most we’ve ever had!

If you were one of the shoppers, we’d love to get your feedback to make Crafty Supermarket even better next year — this quick survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

If you can’t figure out which maker you bought something from, we’ve got a digital copy of our show map here.

We are also forever indebted to the wonderful volunteers who help us on the day of the show, and Ben Davis of Bad Veins for being our in-house DJ. Thank you to the amazing staff of Music Hall for all their help in setting up and making the show run smoothly. Thank you to James Billiter for designing our swag bags and Aaron Kent of DIY Printing for screenprinting them!

The lovely Tamia Stinson of Cincinnati Magazine was our guest judge to give out some very crafty awards:

She made her selections for the first three awards, and then the shoppers of Crafty Supermarket voted on Best in Show:

And for now, we’re taking December off to spend with our friends and families! We’ll post information in January about our next show, on May 7, 2016, at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. Have a great rest of the year!

Get involved with the holiday show!

Crafty Supermarket’s holiday show is huge: 100 handmade vendors come from all around the Midwest to flaunt their best work for thousands of shoppers. To help us make the craft show the best it can be, we enlist volunteers and work with sponsors — and here’s how you can get involved:

Volunteering

At our big holiday show on Nov. 28 at the Music Hall Ballroom, we have a couple of opportunities for people to help out. (And when you assist us for a couple hours, you’ll get one of our famous swag bags!) Volunteers help us out in one of four areas: helping shoppers know where everything is, assisting vendors who need a break, helping load in at the beginning of the day and cleaning up at the end of the day. You can learn more and submit your info here. We’ll get back to you a few weeks before the show with the schedule. (Note that we sometimes get more volunteer applications than we can take, but we’ll get back to you either way!)

Partnerships

We work with all kinds of local organizations who love handmade and want to help spread the word. From arts nonprofits and landmark institutions to DIY shops and enterprises, if you support the maker movement, we’d love to work with you! Learn more about partnership opportunities here and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have an idea of how we can work together!

holiday show applications are now closed!

Applications for the Crafty Supermarket holiday craft show are now closed! We will let everyone who applied know about their acceptance status by Sept. 15.

Accepted crafters will have until Oct. 1 to pay their table fee. If you don’t pay your table fee by Oct. 1, we’ll offer the space to another crafter who applied before the deadline.

I missed the deadline! Can I still apply?

We get more applications for the show than we can accept, so we can’t allow any late applications out of fairness to crafters who applied before the deadline. If a spot opens up from a vendor being unable to attend the show, we select alternates from the people who applied before the deadline.

If you want to apply to be in our next show, be sure to follow us here on the website, on Facebook or via our e-newsletter. We broadcast our upcoming opportunities in all those places! Information about our 2016 spring show will be posted in January.

thanks for making our craft show awesome!

It was a rainy day, but our spring show was a big success! Big thanks go out to our sponsors, our trusty volunteers, our resident DJ Ben Davis, the incredible staff of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center and the 50 vendors who traveled from near and far to be with us. But especially to the 2,000+ shoppers who braved the rain to come hang out at the show!

Cheers to Dojo Gelato, C’est Cheese, Fireside Pizza, La Terza CoffeeMacaron Bar, and Red Sesame Korean BBQ for keeping us well-fed throughout the day!

A hip hip hooray to Half Hazard Press for designing and printing the beautiful totes for our swag bags:

And a crafty salute to this lady who was first in line for one of those swag bags shortly after 9 a.m.!

Thanks are due to the fine folks of the Contemporary Arts Center and the Cincinnati Main Library’s MakerSpace for running the hands-on maker table all day.

Here are a few more of our favorite shots from the show on Instagram!

Our next show is Nov. 28 at the Music Hall Ballroom, and application info for vendors will be posted in July. Stay crafty!
